Water Security, Research and Innovation for Youth Engagement in MENA’s Water Sector
The CIHEAM was involved in two panels:
- «Water Security in The Mediterranean Region: Sustainable Water Reuse Strategies in Agriculture - Case Studies & Regional Perspectives » in partnership with NRD/UNISS and IWMI (21 September from 14.10-15:40)
- “Research and Innovation for Youth Engagement in MENA’s Water Sector” (23 September 11:30-13.00)
One of the biggest challenges that MENA currently faces is the water crisis and sustainable development. A situation recently worsened by the social-economic impacts of the COVID-19 crisis. Failing to address such challenges will impact the region’s social and political stability, not merely welfare and wellbeing.
To make regional cooperation a success, it is fundamental to integrate youth and women, especially in rural and agricultural areas and vulnerable communities.
